Over the last few years, every year around this time, I get a request for these cookies from our nephews. This is one of their most favorite recipes that I make because they are sweet and delicious. Plus, they are SO SO CUTE!

If you love classic sugar cookies but want to add a fun, eye-catching twist, these Marbled Sugar Cookies are your perfect treat! These cookies combine the soft, buttery sweetness of traditional sugar cookies with a swirl of color that makes every bite a little more magical. The signature feature of these cookies is the marbled effect—created by gently swirling different colored doughs together. This makes each cookie unique, almost like a miniature work of art.

  • Granulated Sugar
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Almond Extract
  • Egg
  • Baking Powder
  • Salt
  • All Purpose Flour
  • Chocolate for decorating, optional
  • Sprinkles for decorating, optional

HOW TO MAKE THIS RECIPE:

The full recipe is below. However, lets walk through the steps to ensure that you get the perfect outcome every single time.

  1. We will start by preparing our kitchen – gathering supplies, measuring ingredients, and preheating the oven to 350° F.
  2. In your standard mixer, cream together butter and sugar until smooth,
  3. Add in egg and beat until cream.
  4. Add in vanilla and almond extracts and beat until cream.
  5. In a separate bowl, gently combine the dry ingredients – baking powder, salt, and all-purpose flour.
  6. Slowly add the dry ingredients into the mixer and mix until combined.
  7. Divide into two equal parts. Keep one half of the dough in the mixer and remove the second half of the dough – move to a floured surface.
  8. For the dough in the mixer, add pink food coloring and mix well.
  9. Once pink dough is mixed well. Gently combing handfuls of each dough and roll on a floured surface.
  10. You want these cookies to be around 1/4 inch.
  11. Bake at 350 for 8 minutes.
  12. Allow cookies to cool on the cookie sheet for 3-5 minutes before transferring cookies to a cooling rack.
  13. Once cookies are firm, decorate cookies as desired,
