MadiCakes is my little happy corner of the internet and passion project that keeps my mind creative, my heart happy, and my belly full. I live in Shawnee, Kansas with my husband, Patrick, and our super sweet yellow lab, Paisley Jo! Baking has always been my passion in life. Since I was a little girl, my dad always told me that one day it was my destiny to grow up and open a bakery called “MadiCakes” – named after the traditional and old-school nursery rhyme “Patty Cakes”. Little did he know at the time that not only would I continue to love baking throughout my life, but I would later marry a man named Pat who I ironically call “Patty”… And he is the best taste tester and thankfully my most truthful critic.

My favorite things in life are baking (duh), lake/pool days, my little family, and going to the dog park. Since a very young age, I have always been fascinated and absolutely obsessed by all things baking. After hours and hours of my childhood spent learning and writing down all of my grandmother’s “secret recipes” and mastering all of her tips and tricks, I knew that these things needed to be shared with the world. Over the last few years, I have had the blessing and honor of bringing my visions to life through different cakes, cupcakes, and treats for parties, events, and special occasions nation-wide. However, while I absolutely love playing and creating, there has always been something missing… and to me, that is sharing my love for baking. So, I have decided to take a leap of faith and start this blog as a home base to share my creations, connect with fellow bakers, and truly use my passion for baking to inspire others. I hope you find something here that you love and feel inspired to get your hands dirty and create something special!
